Our Mission
The Desert Tortoise Preserve Committee is dedicated to the recovery and conservation of the Desert Tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) and other rare and endangered species inhabiting the Mojave and western Sonoran deserts.
Our Work
The Desert Tortoise Preserve Committee works throughout the desert tortoise geographic range, specifically within Kern, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties. We perform a number of activities to acquire, protect, and manage desert tortoise habitat, as well as educate local communities about them.
